Ultimate Gaming heads for New Jersey with Trump Taj Mahal deal

1st July 2013 2:10 pm GMT

Nevada-licensed online gaming operator Ultimate Gaming has entered into an agreement to provide a real-money online casino and poker offering to New Jersey casino Trump Taj Mahal.

Ultimate Gaming is the online arm of Station Casino's majority owned Fertitta Interactive which recently launched the first regulated online poker site in the US under the Ultimate Poker brand.

The company said that it will supply Trump Taj Mahal with a wide range of real-money online casino games and a poker offering, using its proprietary technology platform and the Ultimate brands.

Ultimate Gaming chairman Tom Breitling said: “Today we are excited to be entering into an agreement with Trump Taj Mahal Associates to bring online gaming to New Jersey. This represents a huge step forward in our desire to offer Americans across the nation the opportunity to enjoy safe and regulated online games."

Last month, the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE) told the state's 12 licensed casinos that they need to choose iGaming partners by the end of the June if they are to go live by the end of November.

So far only Boyd Gaming (Borgata), Caesars (Bally's, Caesars, Harrah's Resort and Showboat) and the Golden Nugget have signed up partners in the shape of bwin.party, 888 and Bally Technologies respectively.

Ultimate Gaming CEO Tobin Prior said that Americans have shown a strong appetite for online play, and that the company would be able to meet that demand in a responsible, trusted and secure environment.

“We feel our technology is a major advantage," said Prior. "Our proprietary software has been proven to meet regulatory requirements and allows for continuous investment and product development. The technology was acquired in 2011 and developed by a US based company (CyberArts) with a completely clean regulatory profile.”

Robert F Griffin, CEO of Trump Entertainment Resorts which owns the Trump Taj Mahal and Trump Plaza casinos in New Jersey, added: “Ultimate Gaming is a pioneer in the online gaming space and can provide a turnkey solution for our online gaming needs in New Jersey. We are delighted to be working with a trusted partner that has a proven track record."

The Trump Plaza casino remains one of five remaining New Jersey casinos who have yet to announce their respective iGaming partners, alongside Revel, Atlantic Club, DMGB Casinos and Resorts Casino Hotel.
