The Football Federation of El Salvador has provisionally suspended 22 players as it begins an investigation into allegations of match-fixing involving the national team.
Of the total, twenty players have represented El Salvador’s national team, including captain Victor Turcios, while a number of players have played club football in the US’ Major Soccer League.
The matched under investigation include defeats against Mexico, the US, DC United and Paraguay between February 2010 and February 2012.
