New Zealand to criminalise match-fixing

The government of New Zealand has moved to amend its 1961 Crimes Act to officially classify match-fixing as a criminal offence as part of a new policy on match-fixing.

New Zealand's Policy on Sports Match-Fixing and Related Corruption was announced by sport and recreation minister Murray McCully. It is designed to provide a comprehensive framework for government, sports organisations and the betting industry tackle match-fixing in the country.
