The UK Advertising Standards Authority had upheld complaints against Associated Newspapers concerning a national press campaign for the Daily Mail Daily Lottery.

The Daily Lottery campaign ran in the print edition of the Daily Mail during February and March 2013, offering readers who purchased the paper an opportunity to win a daily jackpot of £5,000 by matching the unique number printed on the back page of the newspaper to a set of "jackpot numbers".

The complainants stated that they had purchased the Daily Mail on a number of occasions during the campaign period and found the unique number to be missing, and challenged whether the promotion had been administered fairly.
