Online gaming software supplier Microgaming has launched the latest update to its MPN poker network which includes social gaming-style achievements designed to increase players’ engagement and incentivise more activity.

Players can collect a range of achievements which can be collected for a number of activities, including playing more poker variants, entering tournaments and configuring the MPN client.

The company’s head of network games Lydia Melton explained that they were designed to enhance the interactive and social elements of poker.

“Poker isn't just about winning money,” Melton said. “It's also about challenging yourself and your friends and having fun doing it. Our new Achievements feature is about enhancing this aspect of poker.”

Achievements are now available for a number of MPN clients, including Betsson, whose head of poker Christopher Hirst commented: “"Making poker more fun and challenging in new and exciting ways is very important to us. We're very happy that the MPN shares the same goals and we think Achievements will be a real game changer.”
