Eastern European land-based gaming operator Olympic Entertainment Group (OEG) has gone live with a new Playtech-powered online casino under its recently re-branded OlyBet.com.

OEG re-launched OlyBet.com earlier this year in August, initially providing sports betting through BetConstruct and poker via Microgaming. The company had previously operated a Playtech-powered online casino and poker offering which was launched in February 2010 under the Olympic Casino brand Olympic-Online.com.

That website was closed down in August, with the online gaming offering unified under the new OlyBet.com brand.

Playtech chief operating officer Shay Segev said: “Playtech is thrilled to take part in OlyBet's launch and is delighted about the opportunity to enter new regulated markets. We are honoured OlyBet has chosen Playtech as their exclusive casino provider and are confident that our offering in the casino space will allow OlyBet to reach its goals and revenue targets.”

OlyBet.com targets Estonian and Latvian players, with the operator (Olympic Casino Latvia SIA ) one of only two companies to be awarded a licence to operate in Latvia, alongside Nordic Leisure’s Optibet subsidiary.

“With the help of Playtech, we are launching something truly unique to support our land-based casino and sports bar operations, as OlyBet provides the region's greatest selection of online casino games, delightful poker interface, the best selection of events and the most favourable odds for sports betting,” said Kaido Ulejev, head of OlyBet.
