Metro Play, the Alderney-licensed casino brand of free UK daily regional newspaper Metro, has become the second operator to have an advert banned by the UK's Advertising Standard Agency (ASA) for featuring a Transformers character which was likely to have particular appeal to children and young people.

A regional press ad, featured in the Metro newspaper, showed the Transformers character Optimus Prime holding a sign stating that players could win £30,000 playing the IGT slot game, Transformers – Battle for Cybertron.

It prompted two complaints which challenged whether the use of a character from a popular toy brand was irresponsible as the ad was likely to appeal to children under the age of 18.
