UK bookmaker William Hill has finalised a deal to sponsor the upgraded Grade 3 William Hill Imperial Cup which takes place next month at Sandown Park.
The agreement extends William Hill’s sponsorship portfolio within The Jockey Club London Region, which will now include Imperial Cup Day on Saturday March 8th, featuring the newly upgraded Grade 3 William Hill Imperial Cup.
Rupert Trevelyan, London regional director, The Jockey Club, said: “We are very pleased to confirm William Hill as the sponsors for Imperial Cup Day here at Sandown Park. With their established sponsorship of The William Hill Winter Festival at Kempton Park in December it is fantastic to extend the relationship further to include their presence throughout the region to now also feature William Hill Imperial Cup Day.”
The race is worth £70,000 in total prize money. William Hill will also be providing an increased bonus prize of £100,000 which will be available if the winner of the William Hill Imperial Cup Handicap Hurdle then goes on to win any race at The Cheltenham Festival the following week.
Kate Miller, PR director for William Hill said: “We are delighted to be sponsoring Imperial Cup Day at Sandown Park including the prestigious feature race, The William Hill Imperial Cup Handicap Hurdle. With Cheltenham just around the corner, everyone is full of anticipation with what will happen in the days to come.”
