Gibraltar-licensed gaming operator William Hill has expanded its mobile portfolio with the launch of an Android sportsbook app.
William Hill claims the app is the only Android betting product to offer both live streaming of horse racing and in-play radio, with the operator offering a free £5 bet to all new and existing customers.
The app allows customers to log in automatically, and gives players quicker access to all mobile betting products. It also features push alerts on latest prices and special offers.
William Hill Online operations director Juergen Reutter said the company was constantly striving to offer “the best, most seamless, customer experience regardless of screen size, device or operating system.
“The launch of our new Android app is a significant and important milestone in our goal,” he continued. “Mobile is growing phenomenally quickly and is a fantastic way to engage with our customers anytime, anywhere.”
The launch follows the successful roll-out of the company’s iOS app for Apple devices, which has been downloaded 1.5 million times, described by Reutter as “a very proud achievement.”
“With Android now the biggest selling operating system in Britain we’re delighted our customers with Android devices can have the best possible user experience,” he added.
William Hill has invested heavily in its mobile offering, with the channel generating 39 per cent (£40m) of sportsbook revenue in 2013 and its growth seeing PC-only users fall to less than half of total online customers for the first time.
The company has also established a technology centre of excellence in London’s Shoreditch to support the growth of its mobile portfolio.
