London-listed online gaming operator Betfair has partnered with Jumio to integrate the supplier’s Netverify customer verification solution.

The Netverify product allows Betfair to verify a player's identity using their smartphone or webcam to scan documents such as drivers’ licences and passports, allowing the company to rapidly complete know your customer (KYC) processes and help prevent fraud.

The solution is designed to simplify the sign-up process for new customers and make it easier for operators to reactivate customers.

Betfair’s head of registrations, payments and fraud Phillip Rivers said that by adding the Netverify product into its verification process, the company was making life quicker and easier for its customers.

Rivers said the solution would minimise fall-out from lengthy verification processes and remove costly and lengthy procedures where documents have to be reviewed manually.

“More and more of the top operators are integrating Jumio into their customer verification processes,” said Jumio’s EMEA sales director Catherine Hickey. “Betfair is the latest operator to use Jumio not just to meet Know Your Customer requirements but also to deliver a quicker and slicker customer experience.”

Jumio's expanding client base for Netverify includes PokerStars, Rank Group and Mr Green. The supplier has also been licensed in New Jersey by the Division of Gaming Enforcement.
