Two online adverts run by online gaming operator Betfair have been banned by the UK's Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) after the wording used to promote money-back specials was found to be misleading to customers.

A total of three ads, including box banners above the Home and football tabs on Betfair’s site, attracted four complaints with five issues investigated, three of which were upheld.

Most of the issues related to the operator offering customers a “full refund” on their bets if England lost any group match in this summer’s World Cup tournament or if Andy Murray won the Wimbledon tennis championships.
