Eurofootball, the licensed Bulgarian operator part-owned by Greek gaming supplier INTRALOT, has agreed a sponsorship deal to become the exclusive partner of Bulgaria’s national football team.

The operator has signed the agreement with the country’s governing body for the sport, the Bulgarian Football Union (BFU), with the deal lasting for two years until August 30th 2016.

Eurofootball's chief executive Nikolaos Arsenopoulos said it was very important for the operator to sponsor the Bulgarian national football team as it looked to qualify for the 2016 European championships, due to be held in France.

“We are proud to support the BFU and wish the national team the best of luck,” Arsenopoulos said.

BFU president Borislav Mihaylov said he was very pleased to have agreed the partnership with Eurofootball, especially when there was an ongoing economic crisis in Europe.

“We hope that with good chance and Eurofootball’s support we will succeed to qualify for the championship,” Mihaylov said.

The BFU and the national team will also support Eurofootball’s charity initiatives that are part of the company’s corporate social responsibility programme, Win and Help. The programme is dedicated to promoting sports among Bulgarian youth.

Eurofootball has been active in the land-based sports betting market since 1993, with Intralot holding a 49 per cent stake in the business. The company became one of the first to be licensed to offer its sports betting services online in Bulgaria last year.
