Gala Coral Group’s poker brand, Coral Poker, has become the first skin on the iPoker network to launch Playtech’s new HTML5 browser-based version of Instant Poker.

The HTML5 client allows players to access poker games directly from the Coral website without the need to download software, and comes as part of Playtech’s drive to evolve iPoker into a network catering for recreational players.

Instant Poker is described as ideal for players looking to trial the poker jackpot game Twister, which offers prizes of up to 800 times the buy-in within five minutes of beginning play, or Speed Poker, where players can fold bad hands and be dealt back into the game.

It also allows players to access an hourly ‘winner takes all’ free-roll where they can play short games to improve their skills.

Last week Gaming Intelligence reported that Coral had become the first Playtech client to beta launch the new software, with the migration of the dot.com network to be completed by the end of the year and the old iPoker client to be shut down in Q1 2016.

“Improving our product offer and user experience is part of our industry leading omni-channel growth strategy which is already delivering strong results,” Gala Coral’s head of poker Craig Perry commented. “Our commitment to making poker as fun and accessible as possible is greatly boosted by allowing players to launch games directly from our website and is a great step forward in this regard.”

Joerg Nottebaum, head of iPoker for Playtech said: “Innovation is central to all our product development at Playtech and, with an increased focus on omni-channel gaming via our Playtech ONE solution and recreational poker activity across our world-leading network and the industry in general, Instant Poker is the ideal way for beginners as well as more experienced players to enjoy a fast-paced game without the need for a download.”
