Playtech has released its latest branded slot game, with its new title based on the iconic eighties film Top Gun starring Tom Cruise and Val Kilmer.

The game has been released across desktop and mobile channels simultaneously, and comes with a special bonus round featuring the F-14 Tomcat fighter jet flown by Cruise’s character Pete ‘Maverick’ Mitchell and his wingman ‘Goose,’ played by Anthony Edwards.

The bonus game comes with multiple free spins alongside clips from the film, as well as Dog Fight Wilds. Once activated, the make the F-14 lock, load and fire missiles into the reels to unveil a range of Top Gun wining symbols.

“This iconic movie was the ideal choice for a premium branded game and is sure to be a hit for all our casino licensees and their players across all channels and devices, delivering, as we do with every title and every product, the ultimate gaming experience,” Playtech chief operating officer Shimon Akad commented.

A huge hit on its release, the film, directed by the late Tony Scott, grossed almost $400m in cinemas.

The slot version comes ahead of the film’s 30th anniversary next year, with a long-rumoured sequel currently being written.
