Intertain-owned gaming brand Botemania has been unveiled as a new sponsor for Spanish La Liga side RCD Espanyol.

Botemania, which is powered using software and content supplied by former owner Gamesys, will sponsor the club until the end of this season, with the agreement including an option to be extended for an additional year.

As part of the deal. the Spanish-facing iGaming brand will benefit from advertising across the club’s 40,500-capacity Estadi Cornellà-El Prat stadium.

Botemania’s commercial director Laurence Walton commented: "We are proud to partner with a great club to complement our campaigns. We have been talking for quite some time and looking for the perfect asset. I think we've found the best asset for us.”

Founded in 1900, Barcelona-based Espanyol has won the Copa del Rey four times, most recently in 2006, and reached the UEFA Cup final in 1988 and 2007.

Botemania was among the customer-facing brands sold by Gamesys to Intertain last year, with Gamesys continuing to power the brands as a B2B provider.
