Swedish gaming operator Unibet has signed a two-year extension to its partnership with the HERO Caribbean Premier League (CPL) cricket tournament, as well as agreeing to continue its sponsorship of the league’s Zouks franchise.

The renewal of the agreement sees Unibet continue as the official betting partner, as well as sponsoring Zouks, which includes international cricketing stars such as Shane Watson, Michael Hussey, David Miller, as well as West Indies duo Johnson Charles and ICC World T20 winning captain, Darren Sammy.

As official betting partner Unibet will continue to offer a range of betting markets on the CPL for its 2016 and 2017 editions, including in-play ball-by-ball betting via the operator’s Action Betting markets, giving fans the quickest and most immersive in-play experience on the market.

It will also offer a range of fun bet types, such as betting on the coin toss, the number of sixes hit in the league, length of the longest six and even head-to-head bets on who will score more runs between big hitters Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers.

The news demonstrates the success of the CPL’s 2015 event, and the competition’s continued growth, Unibet said.

The 2015 tournament attracted a global audience of more than 90m, with this year’s edition set to see this figure grow.

It has sponsored the event since June last year, when the league was known as the Limacol Caribbean Premier League as part of an expanding range of cricket partnerships. In January this year it also became a sponsor of England’s Essex County Cricket Club for the 2016 and 2017 seasons.
