A Londoner has won a jackpot of almost £3m playing NetEnt's Mega Fortune Dreams slot via mobile-first operator LeoVegas.

The lucky player won a £2,906,306.34 prize playing Mega Fortune Dreams via the LeoVegas mobile app, betting £20 before going on to win the seven-figure jackpot.

The 36 year-old, who wishes to remain anonymous, is now planning to use the windfall to buy their first home in the capital.

The individual becomes the latest big winner on a Mega Fortune title, which regularly pays out large sums. It previously held the Guinness World Record for the largest ever jackpot from an online slot, a pay-out of €17.9m which took place in January 2013, before the record was beaten last year by Microgaming’s Mega Moolah slot on Betway.com.

"We are delighted to have a big winner here in the UK, and to hear how much his family will benefit from his win," LeoVegas' UK country manager Shenaly Amin commented.

“As well as being a great month for big winners, we’ve also launched LeoVegas Sport – our first sports betting platform – so it’s a really exciting time for us," Amin continued. "The winner is backing France to win at the Euros this summer so let’s hope his lucky streak continues."

Simon Hammon, chief product officer of NetEnt, said: “We’re thrilled that this UK winner has won big and can create the dream family home. Mega Fortune Dreams is designed to excite and entertain, while offering the chance of huge jackpots, and it’s a great feeling to see our players’ lives change with a win.”
