An advertisement for Sky Betting & Gaming’s Sky Vegas site has been banned in the UK for suggesting that gambling could enhance the personal qualities of players.

The UK Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) banned the TV ad, which showed a close-up of a man wearing sunglasses, with bright, colourful images shown in the glasses’ reflection. A voiceover stated: “This is Michael. This morning he was doing his recycling, but right now he's in Sky Vegas.

“And here, he's the roulette rock star riding an electric riff of red and black. 'Cause Michael just registered and right now he's rocking his £10. Why aren't you in Sky Vegas?”

One person queried whether the ad implied a person’s personal qualities were enhanced by gambling.
