UK bookmaker William Hill has signed a two-year deal to become the official European betting partner for English premier league football club Everton FC.

Under the agreement, which will run for the 2016/17 and 2017/18 seasons, the William Hill brand will be displayed on LED advertising boards and interview backdrops inside the team’s Goodison Park home stadium.

The bookmaker will use the club’s official platforms to connect with fans in the UK and Europe with initiatives including competitions, a revamped betting concourse inside the ground, and exclusive odds on all Premier League and cup games.

“We are pleased to name one of the world’s leading betting and gaming companies, William Hill, as our new official betting partner and look forward to a successful association between both parties,” said Alan McTavish, head of commercial at Everton FC.

“Ahead of an exciting new season we look forward to working together with William Hill, a company that prides itself on innovation, history and heritage just like Everton, and developing a long-term partnership that covers the traditional betting and the emerging interactive markets.”

Alex O’Shaughnessy, chief marketing officer at William Hill, added: “Everton are one of the most iconic clubs in Britain and it’s great to be joining the Blues at this exciting point in their history.

“We can’t wait to start working with the club and we look forward to offering the millions of Evertonians a fun and innovative betting service across all of retail and digital channels.”

One of the founding members of the English Football League in 1888, the Liverpool club has competed in the Premier League for a record 113 seasons. The club has won the League Championship nine times and the FA Cup five times, but finished last season in 12th place.
