London-listed CFD provider Plus500 will serve as the main sponsor of leading Spanish football club Atlético de Madrid for an additional season after agreeing an extension to its existing partnership.

Plus500's logo will appear on the team's kit until the end of the 2017-18 season, continuing a partnership that was first struck in January 2015.

The company will also gain access to branding opportunities around the club's new Wanda Metropolitano stadium.

Atlético Madrid is one of Spain's most successful clubs, winning both La Liga and the Copa del Rey on ten occasions, as well as reaching the Champions League final in 2014 and 2016.

It currently plays its games at the 55,000-capacity Vicente Calderón stadium, but will move to the Wanda Metropolitano later this year.

Shares in Plus500 Limited (Co.Data) (LSE:PLUS) were trading down 2.40 per cent at 386.50 pence per share in London Monday morning.
