Online gaming operator Betway has expanded its horse racing sponsorship portfolio with deals to back two National Hunt races organised by Jockey Club Racecourses.

Betway will now sponsor the Kingmaker Novices' Chase at Warwick Racecourse on February 11th, then the full race card at Wincanton Racecourse in Somerset on February 18th. The highlight of the February 18th event is the Kingwell Hurdle, a Grade 2 race that will become the Betway Kingwell Hurdle following the deal.

The operator's marketing and operations director Anthony Werkman said that having become an Authorised Betting Partner of British Racing in October last year, it had been able to increase its investment in UK horse racing.

"We look forward to building relationships with new racecourses going forward, while also bringing our customers great offers," he explained.

"We're really pleased to be working alongside Betway as they continue to invest in racing with Jockey Club Racecourses," Jockey Club Racecourses' regional head of partnerships for the South West region Carey Buckler added.

"The Betway Kingmaker Novices' Chase and the Betway Kingwell Hurdle are both key races in the build up to The Festival and are great additions to Betway’s sponsorship portfolio."
