Online betting and gaming operator Betway has expanded its horse racing sponsorship portfolio with deals to support fixtures at four major UK racecourses.

The new agreements with Jockey Club Racecourses, Arena Racing Company (ARC) and York Racecourse see Betway retain its sponsorship of various headline contests, while extending its support to Newmarket and Haydock.

Through Jockey Club Racecourses, operator of 15 UK racecourses, Betway will be the new sponsor of two Flat racing events at Newmarket - the Listed King Charles II Stakes on May 20th and the Group 3 Criterion Trophy on July 1st.

It will also sponsor the Group 3 John of Gaunt Stakes at Haydock on June 10th for the first time, replacing Paddy Power Betfair’s sports data and content provider Timeform who had sponsored the event since 2009.

Betway’s deal with York Racecourse renews its sponsorship of the Group 2 Yorkshire Cup and Group 2 Great Voltigeur, with the operator continuing to sponsor the Betway Lincoln Handicap at Doncaster, one of 16 racecourses operated by ARC.

Betway’s marketing and operations director Anthony Werkman said that the deals demonstrate the company's commitment to supporting British horseracing.

“We are really excited to announce these new deals, as well as the extensions to some of our flagship Flat sponsorships,” he said. “Our involvement in key races across York, Doncaster, Newmarket and Haydock means that we’ve got a calendar packed full of great sponsorships and we’re looking forward to the Flat season ahead.”
