Online gaming operator Betway has signed a seven-figure landmark deal with Aintree Racecourse to become the official betting partner of this year’s Grand National Festival in April.
The three-year agreement will see the operator expand its horseracing sponsorship portfolio in the UK with the popular three-day event which takes place between Thursday April 6th and Saturday April 8th.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Betway as the new official betting partner of the Randox Health Grand National Festival in a three year deal,” said John Baker, managing director of Aintree Racecourse. “We’re delighted that they have taken five high quality races over the course of the three days, including the prestigious Grade 1 Betway Aintree Hurdle, the feature race of Grand Opening Day on Thursday 6th April.
“In addition to Betway, we look forward to working with a new, exciting headline sponsor in Randox and a new and respected broadcast partner in ITV Racing.”
Betway, which also sponsors the Betway Champion Chase at the Cheltenham Festival, will lend its brand to a number of Grade 1 contests, including the Betway Bowl Steeple Chase, Betway Aintree Hurdle, Betway Mildmay Novices’ Steeple Chase, Betway Mersey Novices’ Hurdle, and the Betway Handicap Steeple Chase.
Betway, who gained Authorised Betting Partner status with British Racing last October, has already penned deals to sponsor the Grade 2 Betway Kingmaker Novices’ Chase at Warwick on February 11th and the Grade 2 Betway Kingwell Hurdle on February 18th.
