UK racecourse operator Arena Racing Company (ARC) has entered into a long-term media rights partnership with Australian betting and gaming operator Tabcorp.

The wide-ranging agreement comes into force in January 2018 and allows Tabcorp to distribute ARC’s UK greyhound racing services in the Australian market via the Sky Racing channel.

Tabcorp will also offer wagering on the greyhound events broadcast and streamed by Sky Racing, while ARC will distribute horse and greyhound racing content from Sky Racing in Australia for both online and retail distribution in various European territories.

“This agreement reflects the compelling strength and value of our greyhound service, which includes tracks that have served the UK and international betting markets so well for a number of years,” explained ARC director of media technology and production Mark Kingston.

“It is tremendous news for UK greyhound racing as it ensures the sport is showcased to a growing worldwide audience. We are excited to have developed a partnership with an industry-leading organisation like Tabcorp which allows ARC to continue to deliver on our aim of providing high quality betting content to our bookmaking customers in the UK and across international territories.”

Tabcorp’s general manager of international Brett Gorman, added: “We are delighted to agree this deal with ARC. We see this as an important strategic development involving two international media rights holders in a growing and competitive marketplace.

“Both ARC’s greyhound offering, and our own horseracing and greyhound racing, are long-established and well-proven products. We look forward to a long and successful relationship.”
