Online betting and gaming operator Betway has secured its second football shirt sponsorship in Spain after agreeing a two-year deal with La Liga side Levante UD.

The agreement comes weeks after the operator signed its first Spanish sponsorship deal with La Liga side CD Leganés.

Nicknamed Granotas (which translates as The Frogs), Levante UD was founded more than 100 years ago and finished 15th in La Liga last season.

“The season is fast approaching and we are delighted to have agreed a deal with Levante UD ahead of yet another exciting La Liga campaign,” said Betway managing director Anthony Werkman. “We’re always looking for ways to extend the reach of the Betway brand throughout Europe and this is a great opportunity to do just that. Levante UD is a club steeped in history and we look forward to a successful partnership.”

Francisco Javier Catalan Vena, president of Levante Union Deportiva, added: “Signing with such a recognised international brand brings huge prestige to Levante.

“We have a continued ambition to grow over the next two years in La Liga and at the same time look forward to this partnership helping Betway to grow in Spain.”

Betway also serves as a principal sponsor of English Premier League club West Ham United, and as a betting partner of Bundesliga club Werder Bremen and Belgian champions RSC Anderlecht.
