Online betting and gaming operator Betway is aiming for maximum exposure in the Spanish market, agreeing its third football sponsorship deal with a top tier club.
The latest agreement will see Betway’s logo feature on the shirts of La Liga club Deportivo Alavés for the next two seasons, building on its recently announced sponsorship deals with La Liga rivals Levante UD and CD Leganés.
“We are always looking for great ways to promote the Betway brand globally and we have done that with Deportivo Alavés, our third La Liga shirt sponsorship deal,” said Betway managing director Anthony Werkman. “Deportivo Alavés is a club on the up and we are delighted to be playing a part in their journey ahead of their third successive season in La Liga. It’s sure to be yet another exciting campaign.”
Alfonso Fernández de Trocóniz, chairman of Deportivo Alavés, added: "It’s an honour to partner with a company as big as Betway until 2020. We welcome them to the Deportivo Alavés family and we look forward to growing together.”
Nicknamed ‘Babazorros El Glorioso’ (The Glorious One), Alavés was founded in 1921 and finished 14th last season in La Liga. The club is based in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Álava, in the Basque Country.
