Indian online poker and rummy operator has signed up big hitting West Indian cricketer Chris Gayle as an official brand ambassador.

The Delta Corp-owned operator said that Gayle symbolizes both fun and success, making him the right choice to showcase Adda52’s vision.

Gayle captained the West Indies’ Test side from 2007 and 2010, and is considered as one of the greatest batmen in limited-overs cricket and one of the most destructive cricketers in the history of the Twenty20, where he continues to play in various domestic leagues.

“We are excited to have Chris as our brand ambassador as this will go a long way in improving the awareness of the game in the country,” said Adda52 co-founder Mohit Agarwal. “This will also help the audience relate more with poker as a skill based yet fun game at the same time. We are the poker pioneers in India and look forward to many more users on Adda52’s award winning platform.”

Agarwal said that all the ingredients for explosive growth in gaming were present in India, including demographics, internet penetration or smartphone penetration.
“The digital payment infrastructure in the country is superb,” he said. “Once the advertising framework for real money gaming matures, the business should see significant growth.”

Following his appointment as brand ambassador, Gayle said: “I love playing poker and I’m really glad to be associated with Adda52. “It’s amazing to see the growing passion for the game in India and I would love to be a part of this journey.”

Adda52 Poker Pro player and India’s only female WSOP bracelet winner Nikita Luther added: “Many people in the country are quite passionate about poker. Chris’s association with Adda52 will improve the awareness about the game and I am very excited about it.”
