Australian betting operator PointsBet has become the second company to be fined this month for offering inducements for customers to gamble through an advertisement in New South Wales (NSW).
PointsBet has been fined AUD$20,000 for posting an illegal gambling advertisement which appeared alongside the PointsBet app in the Apple App Store.
The ad stated: “ALL 40+ METRO RACES RUN 2ND UP TO $100 BACK,” if participants opened a betting account.
