Online betting and gaming operator Betclic has become the new shirt sponsor of French Ligue 1 side FC Girondins de Bordeaux.

The two-year agreement will see Betclic’s logo feature on the back of the club’s shirts from the beginning of the 2019/20 season, which kicks off this weekend.

Betclic, which recently moved its international headquarters to Bordeaux, will also benefit from increased brand visibility across the club’s digital platforms, and work with the club to develop unique promotional events for supporters.

“Settled in Bordeaux for over a year, it was natural for Betclic to get closer to Girondins de Bordeaux,” said Betclic Group CEO Nicolas Béraud. “We are proud to support the new project and the new dynamics of the club.

“We share the desire to offer our audiences the best possible experience and we hope to delight the fans of the Girondins by offering unseen content and the most comprehensive offering of bets for the club's matches.”

FC Girondins de Bordeaux CEO Frédéric Longuépée said that the club was delighted to be able to partner with Betclic.

“Both Bordelais [of Bordeaux], it was more logical to join forces to engage our communities and make them live a unique experience,” he said. “Sharing the same desire to live the passion of football, we are eager, my staff and myself, to open with Betclic this new chapter of our long history.”
