A Staten Island resident has pleaded guilty in connection with a multi-million dollar illegal sports gambling operation which utilised two Costa Rican-based websites.
Queens District Attorney Richard A. Brown said that bookmaker Charles Cicalo had admitted to participating in a highly sophisticated illegal sports gambling enterprise that stretched westward from Queens County to Nevada and as far south as Florida and Costa Rica.
