The Scottish Crown Counsel has decided that there is insufficient evidence to justify a criminal prosecution against snooker professionals Stephen Maguire and Jamie Burnett who were questioned by police last year over allegations of irregular betting patterns during a UK Championship match in 2008.
Last April, a report sent by Strathclyde Police to Scotland's Procurator Fiscal referred five men alleged to be involved in irregular match betting patterns, including snooker professionals Stephen Maguire and Jamie Burnett.
