Bet-at-home has been visible in the German sports sponsorship market for some time now, bwin signed an agreement with THW Kiel last week, and now PokerStars has become the latest online gaming operator to invest in German sport as a result of Schleswig-Holstein’s new gaming legislation.
From next year the multi-use Lohmühle Stadium in Lübeck, home to the Regional North League football club VfB Lübeck, will be known as PokerStars.de Stadium.
