Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) have passed an own-initiative report on sport which, amongst a range of proposals building on sport’s economic, health and societal benefits, also calls on the European Commission and Member States to recognise a sports betting right, protect the funding of sport generated by lotteries and to take action to tackle betting related match-fixing.
