Lawmakers in Washington State have introduced a bill to decriminalise online gambling when played at home for “recreational purposes”.
The bill was introduced Monday with eight sponsors and referred after its first reading to the House Committee on Government Accountability & Oversight.
The bill (HB1824) aims to end the state’s seven year old classification of online gambling as a Class C Felony by reducing it to a Class 3 Civil Infraction.
