Residents of the US state of Illinois are able to engage in online horserace betting for the first time in five months after Governor Pat Quinn signed legislation Friday reauthorizing ADW (advance deposit wagering) within the state.
Previous state law authorising ADW wagering in Illinois expired at the end of 2012, with leading operators including Churchill Downs’ TwinSpires.com and TVG forced to stop taking wagers from residents in January of this year.
