Polish men jailed for cyber attack on UK online casino

In its first prosecution of its kind, two Polish nationals have been jailed in the UK for unleashing a cyber attack as part of an attempt to blackmail a Manchester-based online casino operator.

The two computer hackers, Piotr Smirnow and Paatryk Surmacki, pleaded guilty this week at Manchester Crown Court to two offences each of blackmail and one offence of unauthorised acts on computers (under Computer Misuse Act 1990).
