UK bookmakers to introduce player protection tools for FOBTs

Britain's bookmakers are to introduce precautionary player protection measures for Fixed Odds Betting Terminals (FOBTs) in an effort to allay increasing concerns about the high-stakes gambling machines in betting shops.

The measures are to be introduced on a voluntary basis in March, with the government warning that it will step in if the industry fails to make sufficient progress in minimising potential harm.
