The Australian Wagering Council (AWC), the industry body representing the interests of the Australian sports betting market, has warned that the decision to raise the product fees levied on Victorian races will see more Australians betting with illegal offshore sites.
AWC chief executive Chris Downy said that the higher fees would result in a significant increase in the cost of doing business for operators.
