A lifetime ban imposed on a UK footballer found guilty of match-fixing by the English Football Association has been extended worldwide by the sport’s world governing body FIFA.
Michael Boateng, a former player for Conference South team Whitehawk FC, was hit with the lifetime ban in January this year by the FA’s Regulatory Commission, after he admitted to several breaches of FA Rules, including accepting bribes to influence the outcome of a football match.
