Tabcorp & Tatts head to High Court over compensation claims

Australian operators Tabcorp and Tatts Group have been granted special leave to appeal to the High Court of Australia over claims for compensation from Victoria when its poker machine licence to operate in the Australian state expired.

The case dates back to August 2012, when the gaming and wagering licences held by Tabcorp and fellow Victoria licensee Tatts Group expired, effectively ending the pair’s duopoly in Victoria.
