The UK's data and privacy regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), has launched a crackdown on iGaming affiliates' use of customers' personal details to promote online gambling sites.
The ICO is ordering more than 400 companies involved in affiliate marketing to explain how they use personal details, such as contact information, and send out marketing texts.
They are being asked to reveal where they found this personal information and how many texts they send to players.
