Six New York residents have been charged with running an illegal online gambling operation that took over $13m in wagers during a six month period.
Brooklyn District Attorney Ken Thompson said that between September 1st 2015 and March 15th 2016, the defendants used the Stakestake.com website to accept bets on professional and collegiate sporting events including football, basketball, baseball, hockey, soccer and horse racing, and wired payments to an off-shore location.
