The Australian government has published draft legislation to ban private lottery betting and keno providers, despite the limited availability of data regarding their impact on the market.
The Interactive Gambling Amendment (Lottery Betting) Bill 2018 will amend the Interactive Gambling Act 2001 (IGA) to "prohibit betting on the outcome, or a contingency that may or may not happen in the course of the conduct of a lottery, including a keno draw".
