The British Horseracing Authority (BHA) has increased the fees that it charges racecourses and owners, in response to what it describes as the short-term uncertainty faced by the sport before the betting Levy replacement is introduced.
In a three-year business plan and budget guide published last week, the BHA said that fee increases will be phased in and rise by the lower rate of 2 per cent in 2017, climbing to 2.75 per cent in 2018 and 2019.
