Lower Saxony calls for gaming market liberalisation

The state government of Lower Saxony in Germany has joined the government of Schleswig-Holstein in calling for an amended State Treaty on Gaming which would lift some of the restrictions currently imposed on state-controlled and private gaming operators. But with supporters of the current State Treaty perpetuating unsubstantiated claims about crime and gambling addiction, consensus amongst all 16 states appears as distant as ever.
