Lawmakers in South Dakota have introduced a joint resolution to authorize sports wagering within the city limits of Deadwood.
Introduced by 11 Senators and 16 Representatives, Senate Joint Resolution 2 (SJR2) proposes an amendment to the Constitution of the state of South Dakota and provides for wagering on sporting events.
The amendment will be submitted to the electors of the state for approval at the next general election ballot in the state, expected in November 2020.
