Senator Josh Hawley of Missouri has introduced a bill in Congress to regulate certain pay-to-win microtransactions and the sale of loot boxes in online gaming products.
The bi-partisan bill is supported by Senators Ed Markey of Massachusetts and Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut and aims to “ban the exploitation of children through ‘pay-to-win’ and ‘loot-box’ monetisation practices by the video game industry”.
