Lawmakers in Virginia have introduced news bills in the House and Senate to legalise the sale of lottery tickets via the internet.
The bills apply to national, regional or Virginia-limited draw-based games such as Mega Millions, Powerball, Virginia Draw or Virginia Multi-Draw.
SB 348, introduced by Senator Mamie Locke, and its House counterpart HB 849, filed by Representative Christopher Peace, would authorise the State Lottery Department to establish regulations and procedures to allow digital vendors to sell draw game tickets online.
