Ballot measure proposed to allow sports betting in California

A coalition of Native American tribes in California have proposed a constitutional amendment to legalise sports betting at the state’s racetracks and tribal casinos.

The proposal announced Thursday would be put to a vote at the November 2020 ballot and aims to provide for “a modest expansion of gambling” in California while maintaining a strong, well regulated industry.
