The UK National Lottery Commission has approved the sale of Camelot, operator of the National Lottery, to the Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan (OTPP) for £398m.
The Commission said Thursday that having scrutinised the proposals from OTPP and secured necessary clarifications and improvements to the proposal, alongside checks into the fitness and propriety of the purchaser, it was satisfied that the public interest in the National Lottery is safeguarded.
